Hotel

Hi

I'm guessing you've read the title.

So my dad booked a hotel. It is called Le Meridien. He booked it from Expedia. My Aunt told him to not book it. The hotel had bad reviews. He still booked it. Our first impression was good. The lobby was nice. Very modern. The floors are horrible. They are so old. The rooms are disgusting. They are really dirty. The rooms are also very old.

This hotel should've been nice. It was a Starwood hotel. There are many nice Starwood hotels. There is Sheraton. There is Westin. There is the W Hotel. These are nice hotels. Le Meridien is nothing like them.

The other hotels. We could've stay in Paris.

Cool Concept Cars

concept vehicle or show vehicle is a car made to showcase new styling and/or new technology. They are often shown at motor shows to gauge customer reaction to new and radical designs which may or may not have a chance of being produced.

Swing open its triangular engine cover and all similarities between the Stratos Zero and the Lamborghini Countach end: a 1.6-liter V-4—not a V-12—powers the rear wheels. It still runs.
Squint and it's not too hard to see another, far more famous Bertone-designed Italian supercar, the Lamborghini LP400/Countach, which debuted in 1974.

Merry Christmas!

Hi

If you are offended by me saying Merry Christmas!, then...change your religion. Hahaha, no, I'm kidding, I'm sure we all celebrate this day, whether as a tradition or a religious thing. If you just DON'T celebrate this day, then it is what it is.

Many of you may be like, "is Lawson crazy, It's not even Christmas yet, in Seattle." That is very true. I am not in Seattle, I am in London. I'm gonna tell you about the Christmas in London, even though I'm only 30 minutes into Christmas.

In America, you hear, "Happy holidays!" all the time. No one really says "Merry Christmas!" anymore. It is the exact opposite in London. No one says "Happy holidays" because it is not as diverse in London as to America. There are a lot of Indians though. We even went to an Indian restaurant for Christmas eve dinner. It sucked. I'm not use to it.

Something very similar to this: (don't know how to upload from phone)

Also, there are not many Christmas decorations. The buildings don't really hang lights, there are a few that do. Like Pickadilly Circus.

People don't wear Christmas/Santa hats.
Overall, there is not much Christmas spirit in London.

I'll be posting more about my trip. Stay tuned for more...
(I'm stealing wi-fi from the restaurant next door, the wi-fi in the hotel costs money so I have to be in the Lobby by the wall of the restaurant and the hotel to post things)

Music Makes Everything Better

Music makes everything better. Imagine a movie without music. Sure, the movie could be great without music, but WITH music, it's way better. It enhances the inspiration in the inspirational parts, the motivation in the motivational parts, the depression in the depressing parts and the suspense in the suspenseful parts.

For example, if we look at a sad moment during a movie and we exclude the music, maybe it was sad piano ballad or a depressing violin solo, the sad moment is not as depressing as it used to be with the sad music.

Here's another example, have you ever seen one of those movies where the cool guy walks away from the scene, while the particular scene is exploding, and he has that awesome expression on his face that makes him look like B.A.? Heck yeah, we've all seen one of those movies. Cool guys don't look at explosions. Add the inspirational electric guitar solo or the orchestra piece and BOOM, the scene would be that more inspirational.

Do you ever wonder why many people bring iPods with them to exercise? Because it motivates them to keep going! I'd keep running on that treadmill with an iPod until I couldn't run anymore, with the help of some motivational music.

Have you ever watched a boxing, WWE or UFC match? Both fighters get to choose what song they want to walk in the ring with. Ever hear the announcer say "COMING IN, AT 5'11, 180 POUNDS, INTRODUCING--(insert fighter here)" And after that, the fighter walks in with his posse and his theme song starts playing, whether it may be "Eye of the Tiger" or "All I Do Is Win" or "Ain't No Stopping Us Now", each entrance song makes every fighter seem cooler.

Manny Pacquiao Entering the Ring

Music is also great for doing homework. Although some people may not like any distractions when they do work, I, on the other hand, love a great classical piece to help me focus better.

Also, music helps us get in the festive mood for holidays. Ever since the month of December has came along, I have been listening to a lot of Christmas music. It makes Christmas that much magical. Who doesn't like to be festive? Just kidding.

Festive Santas
All in all, music helps us live life to the fullest and live in the present.

If you had a theme song, what would it be? COMMENT BELOW!

Cop or Drop #4 Executives vs. Studios vs. Quiet Comfort

Hi

This dawn/night, I will be presenting you another Cop or Drop segment but since we have three this time, lets rename this series, "Cop or Drop and Drop!" Don't worry, this name is only for this post. The name will not stick.

The three contestants are the Beats Studios, the Bose QuietComfort 15 and the Beats Executives. All of these will be silver.

First, the Studios. The first over the ear headphones that are made by Beats that has an annoying buzz sound in the background. This is for that Basketball jock that wants to stand out and not get solos because it's too mainstream so he gets something that costs a hundred bucks more.
When you buy Beats, you're just buying the brand.

Second, the QuietComforts. This is for the business frequent flyer wanna to get nice sound and they think that Bose will do just that kinda guy. They also need the noise cancellation feature because when the frequent flyer is at high altitudes, the noise cancellation makes it so that their ears don't do funky stuff.
Same thing goes for the QuietComforts, you're just buying the brand.
Lastly, the Executives. This is for that classy kid who thinks he's all cool and wants Executives instead of the Studios because they are newer and better. Maybe even because he just wants to wear them as neck warmers and he has heard that the padding is really nice and ten dollar legit neck warmers just won't do the job.

So here you go, which one would you cop and which two will you drop. Answer in the poll.

P.S. I am changing my signature because it is too short. Even though this is Asian Occasion, it doesn't have to be this way. I don't know if any of you look at the signature to find out who posted this but here it is, my new on. Here it is:

Today I'm going to be bringing you a new set of Nike shoes- Nike Roshe Run and Nike Eric Koston.

First off, the Nike Roshe Run. Roshes are usually a casual shoe.

Next up, Nike SB Eric Koston. These shoes are obviously skateboarding shoes but can also be casual.

So, which one would you cop or drop?

North Korea

Hello

You may be thinking right now, North Korea?!?!?! What do you know about North Korea? In a matter of fact, I don't know anything about North Korea but I just watched a "documentary" about some guy that went into the Goshdang country. Oh, did I forget to mention, he got back out. This guy, Shane Smith, went into North Korea not as a tourist, but for a tour. Shane Smith is from the youtube channel Vice, a channel with over half a million subscribers. It is actually really interesting. I highly suggest you to watch it for yourself.

There are three parts. I watched all three, very interesting.

--MACKLEMORE--

What's up guys,

Today let's talk some music- MACKLEMORE!

You may have heard of Macklemore from his #1 Billboard song "Thrift Shop" The catchy song with a sick beat with lyrics about only having $20 thrift shop stuff and still rocking it.

I leave you with his most recent album "The Heist."

One of the best things I like about Macklemore is that he reps Seattle, which is where I reside.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis (producer) are one of the best duos in Hip Hop because of the awesome beats and thoughtful lyrics.

Here is Macklemore at Bumbershoot 2011- one of the biggest music festivals in Washington State.

Kobe Bryant's Climb to 30,000

Hi

For those of you who love basketball, I bet you already know about this. Kobe Bryant recently scored his 30,000th point. You should watch this video if you haven't and if you have...GTFO!!! jk, it's worth watching again.

For those of you who don't follow basketball, you should still watch it. It's really a cool sport. You have to know about the game. Kobe Bryant, a Black basketball player (not that being black make this harder to do but I'm just describing him), just scored his 30,000th point. Just watch the video, he makes cool shots.

If you don't know how crazy this is, I'll tell you. This is CRAZY!!!
Even if he is a fricken black ninja/mamba and:

  • scores 50 points per game, He'd still need to play in 600 games!
  • all the points very three pointer and ones and made the extra shot too, He'd still need to make 7,500 of those

My point is that this is pretty amazing.

P.S. Happy 12 which I really don't give a crap about.

Cop or Drop #2 Air Force 1s

Hey bodyevery,

Today is a new cop or drop, and I'm bringing you two recent NIKE Air Force 1s, one of the most legendary off-court shoes in Nike history started in '82. AF1s have been made popular by NBA players; Moses Malone and Rasheed Wallace.

Enough of the overview of the AF1s, let's talk about these Nike Lunar Force 1s, the first shoe I give for you today.

This is one of many great colorways coming out for the Lunar Force 1. This particular Lunar Force is different from the regular AF1s because they are equipped with Nike Lunar technology and also have a little Hyperfuse in them.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This next shoe I present to you is also of course, an Air Force 1 and is a special edition shoe.

Nike Air Force 1 Foamposite "Black Friday"

It's called the AF1 Foamposite Low "Black Friday." Why is it called "Black Friday?"

Two obvious reasons. 1. It first came out on Black Friday of this year, and 2. It is a 100% all black colorway as you can see.

These foamposite lows have a foamposite upper which makes it that much more comfortable.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tell me what you think about these two Air Force 1s in the COMMENTS BELOW.

Cop or Drop #1 Nike Air Max 90 vs Reebok ES22

What's up guys,

Today I'm going to be starting a new series I'm looking forward to- Cop or Drop.

If any of you do not know what "cop" means, it's basically to get, receive, purchase, steal or have. (Urban Dictionary)

The first shoe I give you today is the Nike Air Max 90 Hyperfuse-

Although this shoe is half a year old, I like the slick infrared colorway and just that fresh feel.

Next, I give you the Reebok ES22-

\

The ES22, Emmitt Smith 22, Reebok shoe was kind of a "throwback" shoe Reebok brought back this year. Although it may look pretty funky, I like it.

Which shoe do you like better?

ANSWER IN THE COMMENTS BELOW.

End of the World- 2012

Aloha folks,

Today I am going to be blogging about a debatable and highly discussed issue in the world today. As you may have read from the title, the "End of the World."

We've all heard the story- the Mayan calendar ends on 2012, and a bunch of media are talking about this "end of days" topic creating lots of worry- and hype- on the upcoming 12/21/12.

To be honest, I believe all of this is just chaos. Why be complaining about the end of the world if we do not know for sure if will actually happen? And only if- IF- the world may be coming to an end, stop whining about it and enjoy the last few days of your life. (sorry couldn't say that in a fashionable manner.)

Everyone has their own opinions, what do you think?

With much sincerity,

Asian Occasion
